Global Youth Development
has been involved since 1998 in community, neighborhood, and
education issues. Since 2004 Global Youth Development has worked
with Missouri State Legislators to improve education in Kansas
City, Missouri School District, GYDI will continue being
involved in the improvement of education in Kansas City,
Missouri, but will be working in a larger way, working with
middle/high school students, ages 13 through 18, students in the
Kansas City, Kansas School District and Kansas City, Missouri
School District, introducing computer science curricula as an
elective and/or after school curricula.
Reason:
Deans of Academic at
Longview Campus part of (MCCKC) Metropolitan Community College
at Kansas City, Missouri and (JCCC) Johnson County Community
College, Overland Park, Kansas, these deans expressed to GYDI,
and her advisory board, "Once students reach programming
they drop either out of college or change their career
choice", GYDI wants to over come these obstacles and
difficulties high school graduate, not being prepared.
How:
Global Youth Development,
Inc (GYDI) has teamed up with Altered Planes Entertainment,
(APE) to take on these difficulties and help improve education
starting at the middle school level.
Altered Planes
Entertainment will incorporate programming and other computer
science curricula to disenfranchised and gifted students
appointed by their principals and/or teachers, these
programs will be part of Altered
Planes Entertainment’s internship/apprenticeship entrepreneur
programs, APE will have instruction on line through its own
servers 24/7/365 a APE professional will be interactive with
students. students will be given assignments, the professional
will from time to time monitor each student, if the students is
have difficulties these difficulties will be noticed and the
instructor/professional will go on line and talk to the student
and make suggestions, suggestions only, the student must salve
their own assignments.
